Central Sulawesi To Host Tdcc 2017

Palu, C Sulawesi,  (antarasulteng.com) - The Central Sulawesi provincial government plans to host the Tour de Central Celebes 2017 (TdCC 2017) to increase the number of tourist visits to the province, according to local Tourism Office Chief Ardiansyah Lamasituju.

"In 2017, we are eyeing to raise the target of tourist visits by 100 percent, and the TdCC is one of the flagship events to achieve it," Lamasituju remarked here on Thursday.

According to Lamasituju, this year`s TdCC will have a strong appeal for domestic and foreign tourists, as the race is a great sporting event for bicycle lovers and cyclists.

Moreover, the tour, followed by numerous cyclists from across the world, will pass through several districts and a city in Central Sulawesi, he revealed.

"This is the reason why we are optimistic to increase the target of tourist visits to Central Sulawesi by 100 percent, as international athletes will participate in this cycling event," he pointed out.

The Central Sulawesi Tourism Office has decided to increase the target of tourist visits by 45 thousand this year, or up by 100 percent as compared to that in the previous year.

Since the TdCC was planned and the preparation stage was completed, public interest and foreign tourist arrivals in the province began to increase.

"Since we planned to organize the TdCC 2017, several (people) have expressed willingness to participate in the event, and this means the event is an attraction for tourists and cyclists," Lamasituju noted.

Some 1,500 people are expected to participate in the race that will be flagged off in Ampana in Tojo Unauna District to the city of Palu and pass through the districts of Parigi Moutong and Sigi, offering an opportunity to enjoy the surrounding tourist attractions. (skd)
