Poso, Central Sulawesi,  (antarasulteng.com) - The Napu flatland remains isolated with land transport to and from Poso cut as a result of landslides a few days earlier.

Landslides had hit a number of locations along the highway between the villages of Dongi-Dongi and Sedoa, in the sub-district if Lore Utara.

The Central Sulawesi public works office is still seeking to repair the road to restore the condition in that areas. A number of units of heavy equipment have been brought in to the locations.

Piles of soil and rocks block the road that cars have to wait until repairs had been finished.

In some places fallen trees also blocked the road that it would take days to allow cars to use the road, which is vital for economic development in that area.

The Napu flatland is horticulture and fruit center and most of its production of fruits and horticulture and other farm products are disposed of in Poso or shipped to other regions including East Kalimatan.

The horticulture commodities include cabbage, string bean, sweet potato, and carrot and its fruit products include orange, and rambutan, durian, manggo, and pineapple. (skd)
